REIKI Integrative Healing Sessions
What is a Reiki experience like?
Some People feel Reiki as a warmth, others as coolness. Some feel a tingling or vibration and some feel nothing at all. If the person receiving Reiki feels nothing, this doesn't not mean they are not receiving the energy, it simply means they are not particularly sensitive to the feel of the energy. Working with a number of people at a Health Fair, whom have never heard of Reiki, only one did not feel the energy flow in some way or another. One lady told me, she just melted into a puddle of butter, another said they felt tingling or like someone was tickling them with a feather.
Many times, we find that therapeutic sessions are more effective if Reiki is applied on the client for three sessions. However three sessions is not a requirement and Reiki can flow affectively, immediately on one individual, on one location. Reiki can be applied with either spot treatments or working on the area (the client identifies) in need of healing or in addition to a full body treatment. Often a person just needs some specific area to be worked on. This can help alleviate some of the problems and promote healing. However a full body treatment is recommended for best overall results.
We do not prescribe or diagnose A full body Reiki Treatment or session lasts approximately one hour focusing 3 to 5 minutes at various positions. The person receiving the full body treatment may lie down on a table (A massage table works best), however sitting in a chair is more comfortable to others. The Reiki Practitioner will sometimes begin at the head of the person and progresses through all the series of hand positions taught. The hands may gently be placed on the person until the area being treated stops drawing energy. There are obvious areas where touching is inappropriate and the boundries of the client and the practitioner should be of the highest concern. Touching may be illegal in a some specific states without being a licensed Message Therapist. In Texas there isn't a regulation on Reiki, Reflexology, Acupressure. The client should remain clothed.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT REIKI AND REFLEXOLOGY
What do I have to do?
To benefit from Reiki or Reflexology you need to only be open and willing to receive the energy. If, at any time during the treatment session or after, you have questions, concerns or feel distress and or pain, let your Practitioner know. Normally you won’t feel any pain. Tell your practitioner how much pressure you are willing to have during reflexology.
What do I need to tell my practitioner?
Please NOTIFY and make your practitioner aware of any skin or infection problems.
NOTIFY your practitioner if you are presently under medical care and list the names and phone numbers of your caregivers . It is important for your Practitioner to know if you are pregnant, on Blood Thinners, diabetic, have a heart condition, use a pacemaker, wear contact lenses or use hearing aids.
Do I need to get undressed? .
For Reiki, just wear comfortable clothing that is not binding in anyway. You will not be asked to take off your clothing. For Reflexology you need only to remove your shoes and jewelry. Reiki Flows with the Reflexology treatment and enhances the entire process.
Will you diagnose or prescribe?
NO! Your Reiki and/or Reflexology Practitioner DOES NOT PRESCRIBE MEDICAL TREATMENT, DIAGNOISE OR PERFORM SURGERY IN ANY WAY. Your Practitioner does not claim to heal you or perform miracles. There also may be times that you will notice no affects of the energy flow.
Please continue to see your caregivers Doctors and Nurses and follow their prescribed treatments. If your caregivers have any questions about Reiki or Reflexology, Your Practitioner will be happy to talk with them. Reflexology and Reiki are COMPLIMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES or integrative health modalities. Do not change your medication without the approval of your doctor.
Reiki for Plants
Reiki is the same energy that makes all living things grow. Thus Reiki can be used to treat flowers, plants, and animals. When giving Reiki to your plants you will be impressed by the positive results you get, such as strong healthy growth and a profusion of buds and blossoms. You can Reiki your plants through their pots, stems or even the seeds prior to planting. Reiki' ing the water you use on them doesn't hurt either. My Moana Loa Plant was accidentally left out during a freeze, this poor tropical plant does not respond well to freezes. Reiki to the rescue and now the plant is prettier than ever.
Reiki for Animals
When using Reiki on your pets, you will notice that they get quiet and something within them seems to let go and relax. The energy flows into the animals exactly as it does people. Dogs seem to go into scratching when there is Reiki energy around them that is not needed. Cats will manage to wrap themselves around you, regardless. You might also observe an animal with long hair appearing to tiptoe in the area where you are doing Reiki, due to the affect of energy and the static electricity on their hair.
Reiki for Babies
Babies love Reiki. When you do Reiki Treatments, they absorb the energy much quicker and will often push your hands away when they are not needed. Spot treatments are better than trying a full body treatment. Children and animals are closer to the Divine source in their intuition and we can trust their judgment in this. Babies will often go to sleep with Reiki. Ask a Mom, Its a blessing for a tired cranky child. You'll also find that once a child has received Reiki they may run to you and ask for your hands to be placed on them for healing. If you do Reiki on a client in an area where there is a child that has had Reiki treatments, you might find them helping you.
